Work included in a juried group show at the Knoxville Airport:
I have one 25" x 40" composite photograph included in the juried group exhibition of artworks in a variety of media, at the McGhee Tyson Airport (Knoxville, TN), in the Arts In the Airport Spring 2010 Exhibition. This exhibit is organized by the Arts & Culture Alliance of Greater Knoxville, and was juried by Mr. Stephen Wicks (Curator, Knoxville Museum of Art). On view 23 April 2010 through 21 October 2010. The exhibit is in the secure area of the terminal, so you can check it out as you wait for a flight.
I have a self-published book available for purchase:
I self-published a small portfolio book titled, Squares, in August 2008, with the Blurb publishing/printing company. You can preview a few pages of the book, and/or purchase a copy for yourself directly from the Blurb web site: www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/322609
My wife has a new poetry chapbook due out very soon; late summer 2010:
Susan O'Dell Underwood is getting a chapbook of her poetry published this summer (due late August 2010 or early September 2010) by the Finishing Line Press, of Georgetown, Kentucky. The book is titled, From, and includes a collection of poems dealing with where she is from, where she has gone, and the senses of belonging and place. It is now available for pre-publication reserve, on the web site of the press: www.finishinglinepress.com. After the publication has been launched, this book will also be available at Amazon.com.
More Stock Photography Now Available:
I now have more than 600 stock photographs visible on-line & available for publication, which are represented by the Omni-Photo Communications company in New York. To view these (mostly single-image) photographs, go to www.omniphoto.com, and type "David Underwood" in the search block. The most recent additions to this stock collection are images of several national parks of southern Utah and Nevada (USA).
Looking for models:
Although I have photographed friends and family for years, I have not previously really concentrated on making photographs of people. I am attempting to expand my horizons by making portraits of the faces and heads of all kinds of people (young & old, all races, everyone is eligible), for use as stock photographs and for eventual use in some of my fine art composites. I am working on a new series of composite figure studies. If you are interested in being a model for me, please contact me.
Ongoing Photo Opportunities:
Be sure to check out the changing exhibitions and the opportunites to enter juried exhibitions and competitions at The Center for Fine Art Photography (in Colorado), at www.c4fap.org. This is a great organization, operated by some really great people (and their exhibition space is nice, too). |
